Just 20 miles from Playas Macao, Punta Cana International Airport welcomed more than 50% of all of the Domincan Republic's foreign arrivals in 2006. It is newly renovated and expanded, with air-conditioned interiors and large runways to accommodate all types of aircraft, including wide-body jets and charters from around the world.

And thanks to the new Boulevard Highway, travel time from the airport to Playas Macao is now under 25 minutes door-to-door. Airlines around the world have responded to the ever-growing popularity of the region as a tourist and vacation home destination.
